All it took was one person to confront Rob Sand at his town hall for his anti-trans statements.

There are 26 Democrats that have taken bad votes or made bad statements towards transgender people.

Those who disagreed with my article said to talk to the dems instead.

So, we are.

Go do it!
Iowa Dem. Gov. candidate Rob Sand was confronted at a rally yesterday over anti-trans positions.

A constituent asked if he would walk them back.

He refused to, and in fact said he supported sports bans.

Another constituent shouted "COWARD!" in the background.

“Coward!”: Iowa Dem Governor Candidate Rob Sand Comes Under Fire At Campaign Rally After Saying He Agreed With Trans Sports Bans
Apparently, Sand could not tell this prospective constituent that he supported equal rights for everybody.

When it comes to puberty blockers, the anti-trans crowd loves to point to bone density loss as lifelong damage being done to the body, but is it really permanent? @veraeikon.bsky.social digs into a study released in August that examines the actual impacts and how they can be mitigated.
Irreversible Damage? Debunking the Myths of Puberty Blockers - Assigned Media
Countless myths have been built up about the supposed harms of puberty blockers on youth. Assigned Media looks at a 2026 study that strives to debunk those myths.

I’ve been listening to @susanstryker.bsky.social’s new book, Changing Gender. I’m enjoying it. Wrapped in engaging storytelling, it’s a thoughtful and informative exploration of the concept of gender and its roots.

Democrats are not entitled to our votes. If they want want them, they have to meet us where we're at. If you don't like it, get better policy positions on trans people.

I have to say that despite the pile on, I’m heartened.

There are a lot of people coming out now and saying they will not support the worst anti-trans Dems who call us “biological men” and who advocate for laws targeting us.

More than I thought.

I hope the consultant class feels a little fear.

No candidate, regardless of party, will ever get my vote if they call me a "biological man" and advocate for laws targeting my community.

Its that simple.

For those asking the term genocide.

You know, when I wrote this piece, given the credentials of those experts I interviewed, I thought that it if it spread, it would be enough to put the whole trans athlete panic in broader perspective.

I can see that the connection needs to be more explicit.
NEW from Important Context:

Genocide experts, including two past presidents of the International Association of Genocide Scholars, are speaking out about escalating attacks on transgender Americans in the U.S.

the trans community’s demand is eminently reasonable: “democrats need to treat trans people as equal partners in their political coalition or trans people will not be partners at all.”

so, democrats: do you want to win or not?
The vitriol directed at me and other members of the trans community for having the audacity to declare our votes are not to be taken for granted.

By cisgender people who otherwise have called themselves allies.

I wish it weren’t so utterly predictable.

“It’s okay both candidates oppose your rights. You should support this candidate, because they support our rights. Maybe someday we’ll come back for you.”

That’s not a compelling argument.

If you cannot be trusted to stand up for transgender Americans when they’re facing what some experts call a genocide, I don’t trust you to stand up for anything.

Agreed. This statement is the exact same statement TERFs often throw at trans people to deny that trans people exist.

Pretty shitty by Talarico.
This is... to me... a denial that trans people exist. The reference to genetic anomalies is common anti-trans language referring to intersex people.

Any Democratic strategist advocating for the party to throw trans athletes (especially kids) under the bus should be drummed out of politics.

It’s complete malpractice to accept right-wing framing on literally any issue.

I just want to say, the fact that so many Dems are coming out and saying shitty things about trans people in the last two weeks is a case in point of what I have been working so hard to sound the alarm on.

I've been so hard on each individual dem who breaks for years now.

I feared this.
