Honestly, it is the part of the Jesus story that compellers me the most. Not the exlampar. Not the teacher. Not the healer. Not the vindicated. The cross. Without the cross, I doubt I would (or could) follow the Jesus story.

I encourage you, not to celebrate a feast day, but to expand your vision of where the cross fits in the cycle of the church year. We all need an expansive view of the cross.

The cross is so much more than a symbol for Easter. It is Christ coming as king.
