This is one of my favorite books, and it’s had some well designed covers. But most either lean on motifs (Chess! $$! Fireworks and other Americana!) or, if painting a narrative scene, just highlight Turtle, the kid reader stand-in.

But for me, the charm of the story is its large ensemble cast. So!
