Changing seasons at Cavenham. Increase in Meadow Pipits (60+) summer migrants 2 House Martin and a few Chiffchaff. Still a few Stone Curlew around.

White Winged Scoter ad/m Methil viewed from football club carpark at 9.05am. Also 5 Long tailed Duck and 54 Barnacle Geese flew west.

Marathon session Lakenheath RSPB to Botany Bay 7am to 12pm

Highlights
Garganey (m&f), Whooper Swan, 3 Gropper, 2 Hobby, Yellow Wag, 6 booming Bittern plus 1 over New Fen, 2 GWE, 2 Cranes flew east from Botany Bay plus all the usual reedbed birds.

Some late news from yesterday. A herd of Whooper Swans and 3 Bewicks Swans (1juv) in the Suffolk fens between Kenny Hill and Shippea Hill at TL6553 8239 showing well from the farm track.

Another similar flock in Cambridgeshire at TL5839 8631
