Plenty to reflect about re: the Arday affair, but I'm going to repeat this one thing. The playbook the right used here is effective even though it's not especially sophisticated, as it relies on the audience to do the dirty work. I've been calling it "Trojan horse propaganda", let's go with that. 1/

The Guardian did not accept our letter debunking Nils Pratley's OpEd where he argued against public ownership of water

Our unpublished letter to The Guardian on the Water industry
On 1 July The Guardian published an article by Nils Pratley. In its original form it described Welsh Water as being in public ownership. Here's the text of our letter to them pointing out this error.

It's an objective fact that Elon Musk is a mass murderer. He intentionally caused the deaths of millions of people. There's no caveats to this, no alternative explanations, no defenses, no missing context; that was the sole reason for doing what he did.

Angela Rayner was dragged through every front page for weeks...

HMRC's verdict: NOT deliberate. NOT even careless.

Farage pockets £5 million and chooses not to declare it

So where's the wall-to-wall coverage?

Tell me this isn't a rigged game.

When Angela Rayner underpaid £40,000 stamp duty on her flat, Richard Tice said it was "morally completely indefensible” and she should immediately resign if she had “any moral decency”.

Now we learn he personally made £91,000 in excess payments by failing to pay the tax his company legally owed

Some thoughts about the President of the United States speaking about ending a civilization. The president speaks genocide. Anyone who has been involved in that conversation or associated actions would be complicit. And so we too must speak. Not only about crimes, but about their legal punishment.
