People would come into the gas station where I worked and ask me, a 17 year old, for directions and we would all look at a big paper map of the city we had taped to back of a door.
Can’t lie, the fact that y’all were driving with PAPER maps is insane. Even worse, you had to ask random strangers for directions??
Saw a meme of GenZ baffled by how pre-internet travel worked, and realized we’ve crossed an enshittification threshold where IRL services that once seemed outdated, like travel agents, now seem luxurious: “You meet with a human expert who plans out your whole trip with you” sounds incredible now tbh

The root of the problem is that people need to be edutained at all times now. Entertainment needs to seep into every aspect of life. People can’t handle boredom or learning by and large anymore without the need to make fun airplane sounds as our attention spans have atrophied. (1/2)
