The entire foundation unto which the last 15-20 years of the Western game industry has been built - the simulacrum of a "playable movie", and transforming into a "higher" medium like film - has come crumbling down as its become markedly clear no one involved knows what a *game* even is anymore.

I don’t pay attention much to discourse on gaming w/exception to BigThinkDimension, but I can’t imagine anyone holding water for Sony after them dropping Kojima. What even is left of that company now? Live service slop and cinematic walk and talks? Everyone is getting sick of those
