In 2024-25 HMRC failed to collect £59.2bn of tax; £500bn since 2010.

£12.8bn lost through profit shifting by multinational corporations.

Promoters of a business rates avoidance scheme boasted that they have deprived local councils of £500m.

Billions can be raised by ending abuses.
Here’s how the chancellor can raise the billions needed to improve the quality of life of millions

Very nice to hear a sane voice from Piddington. Serious respect to this woman, who is apparently already being othered by more bigoted villagers.

Trump is asking Ukraine not to bomb russian oil refineries. How about a concession - russia gets out of Ukraine and Ukraine stops hitting russian refineries.

I would suggest for Trump to pass this proposal to his boss Putin.

The New York Times did not blink.

The Times: “We won’t be issuing a retraction."

But they didn't stop there. "This is another all too common example of the president lashing out at coverage he doesn’t like and belittling journalists who report the facts.”

But his real goal is to collect and sell your personal data to advertising companies, Big Tech, and other Republican PACs.
The hidden dangers of Musk’s votesafe.org
The slick voter registration website, currently being promoted to millions of people, is a digital surveillance machine.

I am a scientist – and the answer is climate change.

Yes, there is nuance. Yes, it could take a long time to identify the precise mechanisms.

But there is no question why ice and snow-related disasters are on the rise. Our planet is warming at an unprecedented rate, and humans are responsible.
In Nepal, it will most likely take months for scientists to understand exactly what led to deadly flash floods that killed over 1,000 people and left thousands missing. Early theories posit glacier meltwater and a thawing permafrost could have contributed to bedrock collapse.

1. Crime rates are rising rapidly

Reality: Crime rates in the UK have been broadly stable or declining for most types of crime since the mid-90s, though some offences like knife crime have fluctuated regionally
