oh man, it's so good. I was genuinely surprised at how much I like it based on how "meh" I was going into it. They need to let people try stuff with these characters who's origin story is the only movie they've ever made about them over and over

Same reason private equity buys housing they have no intention of renting.
That's the thing about PE, it destroys everything - it's just rent-seeking. PE is actually the Paperclip Maximizer that these guys say we should fear.

The "unity" was the first 18 hours or so, when we were all in WTF IS HAPPENING mode, scared and confused. It was a Tuesday. By Thursday you knew that 50% of the people in your life were in "Let's Nuke 'Em" mode and were ready to sign away the entire Bill or Rights for a little vengeance.
