Got woken up by a loud notification that the devices we use had updated something and am now being entertained by two owls (?) shouting at each other

However, there was a very brief time when the low, thick cloud parted and the sun was visible as a crescent of light behind the higher lighter cloud. like looking through a translucent curtain.
