This is absolutely true. Stories that came out of editorial board meetings were press releases.
something i learned about journalism during the iraq war: all the outlets who had "access" to key figures - people like bush, cheney, rice, senior dems, etc - these are all the people who got the story wrong. it was the reporters working outside the system, usually far from dc, who got it right.

Seems like they most certainly did. They put the cameras on private property so they would be out of reach of public disclosure: The cameras should be removed.

Also worth nothing that Mr Bouie is going absolutely scorched earth on somebody who until quite recently was his colleague at the NYTimes. Makes you wonder about social dynamics at past company picnics.
Normally I just appreciatively read @jamellebouie.net 's columns-sharable video content just isn't my bag. But this is a very, very, very trenchant piece of commentary that captures a lot of how I increasingly understand the disjunction between the commentary environment and on-the-ground politics.
