I think the dubcon sex was definitely part of what shifted their views, but also just being around the whole cast of characters surrounding Frank pushes them to question things. Framing Rocky as the ideal man right in front of Brad shifts the weight of that stereotype off him.

Monty Python didn’t register to me the same way, likely because I’m a third-generation Shakespeare nerd. I just assumed they were doing the Shakespeare thing, since they only had guys in the group. But like, sketch comedy. Now when I rewatch as an adult, it’s hilarious that I didn’t notice.

My read on it was that Brad and Janet represented an idealized cishet white Christian couple. When they need help, the very weird very queer people living nearby take them in. Meeting weird queer people makes them examine their own sexualities for the first time, and they have fun.

I’m trans and I love it, but I’m only one person. For me, RHPS was my first real exposure to the idea that you could challenge gender and sexual norms. I would credit Tim Curry’s performance for putting the first crack in my egg, so to speak. Language has evolved since, but offense was never meant.

For the final one, I will probably print molds out of PLA and pour expanding foam into those. But this foam TPU prototype behaves almost the same way, and will let me work on mechanisms before finalizing the sculpt.

The foaming TPU prints really interesting. The hotter the nozzle, the more it foams up. I’m printing with the flow rate turned down to 60% and the nozzle at 260C. Gyroid infill at 10%, single layer walls. It sticks to the bed no problem, but needs extra space for the supports.
