The President of the United States is the steward of the White House for future
generations of First Families. He is not, however, the owner! President Trump ("the
President") claims that Congress has given him authority in existing statutes to construct
his East Wing ballroom project and to do it with private funds. The plaintiff, the National
Trust for Historic Preservation in the United States ("National Trust", claims the President
has no such authority under existing statutes and that a preliminary injunction is necessary
to avoid irreparable harm. I have concluded that the National Trust is likely to succeed on
the merits because no statute comes close to giving the President the authority he claims to
have. As such, I must therefore GRANT the National Trust's Motion for a Preliminary
Injunction, and the ballroom construction project must stop until Congress authorizes its

I’m flying from Canada to SeaTac then PDX on Wednesday and back on Friday. I’m dreading it, thanks to all this TSA/ICE business. And I was already dreading it because I’m traveling for my dad’s funeral, presided over by my narcissist stepmom. So thanks, regime, for making a bad trip even worse.

Because of the National driver register, since their licenses are suspended, trans folks cannot move to another state and get a new license until they remove the suspension on their existing Kansas license.
They can't even escape this by moving to another state.

Kansas is sending letters to trans people telling them that their licenses will be revoked as of tomorrow and that they risk arrest for driving on a suspended license.
This is pure cruelty.

I've been saying it a lot, but these deaths line up with what happened in early concentration camps during other regimes: Deaths from poor conditions, disease, or abuse. These deaths are not accidental. They are the direct result of a camp system that is designed to harm those being imprisoned.
I received notification of yet another death at an ICE facility, meaning 38 people have died in custody since Trump returned to office.
ICE is failing to ensure the health and safety of the people it is responsible for.
We need immediate oversight of this entire operation.
