Thinking about how there really isn't a lot of representation of red headed folks like myself in games. Hair colors are much brighter and too orange. If there is a red head, they have overly pale skin and a ton of freckles, and blue eyes, unlike myself.

Maybe I should change that in my own work :)

how to turn a 3D scan into a game-ready mesh, i guess?

spent a bit this afternoon tinkering with how to decimate a 3D scan without nuking the texture, kinda cursed but worked decently!

Microsoft losing the plot to the extent that games running on Linux through a compatibility layer are now not only faster but *assumed to be faster* than games running natively on Windows should be an even bigger story than it already is

my real programming toxic trait when using other languages is I am a bitch about typing, overabundance of checks and field name variables because I was raised on C++

yes I will check so many things and type as much as possible because if you breathe wrong at nlohmann/json you will core dump

Been getting recommended BF4 vs BF1 vs BF6 shorts in YouTube. Insane how a game that released this last year with 4x the budget can barely keep up with a game released more than 10 years ago.

I don't think the manpower and money cost is justifying the means in terms of fidelity of this point

I've been tinkering with a "spoopy ghost" shader for Bonerooms and stumbled on a neat effect just using some noise to burn down the screen space color, which gives you a neat "ghosting" effect

You can also invert the burn to get an additive "fog" look too

Incredible, every company that raised prices should have this type of lawsuit brought against them lol. Walmart, Target, major clothing companies, hardware stores, ALL of them. They did not pay that tariff money, the customers did.
Gamers have filed a class action lawsuit against Nintendo, saying that if/when the company gets a refund for recent U.S. tariffs, it should give the money to consumers who paid raised prices

In March, Nintendo dodged telling me if it'd pass refunds on to consumers

Does everyone keep making extraction shooters because they don't know what else to do or what.

Like, sure, there have been a couple hits. But the genre is far too niche to have THIS many games.
Scoop: Epic is working on a Disney extraction shooter

Ahead of its slated Nov launch employees say they're worried about Epic's pattern of "Version 0.5" releases - a challenge they say may have hurt adoption for the Epic Games Store, mobile store and Fortnite modes

These Big AAA studios never cared about being called indie till they found out they could steal the marketing from small team / small budget games

We need to rebrand "indie" to "Micro game studios/teams" or something like that to represent what "indie" always really meant when it came to games.

One version of the Mario Bros. arcade has an oversight where reaching 980,000 points gets a Game Over. This happens because the game starts giving Mario extra lives on every frame, overflowing the life counter. As such, he is literally killed by being showered with extra lives.
