Spent this summer working with an amazing summer undergraduate research program, to learn that the program might not happen again for a few years if ever. As we closed out the program today, I felt so many emotions and keep crying at the thought that I might not get to work with this program again.

How is it that support groups are becoming so negative? Like, I joined these for support and guidance through a journey I’m on… I didn’t join to be consistently judged and belittled for the same experience that the group is supposed to be supporting me through..

After emancipation, ex-enslavers claimed that educating Black Southerners would cause a "negro insurrection." The idea came from the Haitian Rev—that if Black ppl really understood how they were exploited, they wouldn't stand for it. The anti-woke/CRT/DEI GOP repeats this same racist nonsense today.
