Started the series Widows Bay (on AppleTV) earlier this afternoon... Can't stop watching. Halfway in and holy cow this is good. (First episode is really slow, give it a couple episodes to pick up.)

Watching the TikToks of Scotland's Tartan Invasion in Boston (for the World Cup) have brought me great joy. All of their silliness is inspiring and damn, those guys can wear a kilt. Rest of the world: take notice, learn, and be more like them.

Today I had a guest show me a photo of a book she wanted to buy. It's not available in store; I suggested she order it online. "I don't buy anything online!" She snapped rudely, before hustling away. Me: not telling her receding back the book isn't going to be released until late September.

Ever read a book you want to like and struggle to put it down? I just finished one. I did not enjoy reading this, as brilliant as it is. It's dark, and violent, and incredibly graphic about how humanity is and always will be people's worst monsters.
