Also lately I've been turned off by novels with dual main character POVs where they sound/speak exactly the same even with vastly different backgrounds.

My top 3 petty reasons are:
• Using nonsense verbs such as "he carded his hair" or "he drug his eyes across his face".
• In several books one (female author) has her gay characters hooking up and using hair conditioner as lube.
• Where the dog dies.

Just finished the first season of Kevin Can F**k Himself. fantastic, but hard to watch. To get over that, I think I'll need to start a rewatch of Xena or plug on with Harley Quinn. Just started Among Us and am not sure about it yet.

Which I think is why some publishers have recently dropped printing mass market paperbacks and favoring trade paperbacks. Separately, I noticed on Pango that someone seems to be reprinting "high quality" leather-bound books for $150 a pop. I noticed few Scalzi titles in their shop too.
