G.O.R.D. isn’t a name, it’s a frame of mind. At least, it isn’t my name. He/him.
I’ll allow Electric Bugaloo jokes of I have reason to believe the speaker has seen both Breakin’ and Breakin’ 2. Otherwise I insist on the format that starts 2_____ 2______ and continues through the rest of The Fast and The Furious mega saga.
I know.

I also hate, “be sure to tip the waitresses” and “I’ll show myself out” and “_____ 2, Electric Bugaloo.”

These aren’t jokes any more, they are the desiccated remains of the unwrapped corpses of the smelly fossils of jokes.
Bear with us Gail. There are some jokes that pop up every time with some people.

Do graphic novels increase literacy? Not in your opinion. However, in my reality, I was automatically placed in an Ancient Greek class in high school because my literacy was top of the class and they thought I was a genius. No, I just read x-men

“This is a very big and important announcement.”

Yeah the Hittites are pretty chill I guess, but it bugs me they almost never Text.
Wow! Texts are super rare for the Hittites, basically there’s just one archive and it’s 95% lists of prayer sacrifices to mountain gods, so this is really, really exciting!
184 new cuneiform tablets ✍️ (total), dating to c.1400 BCE. “Preliminary examination of the texts has revealed references to military activities, epidemics, the death of an infant princess & requests for assistance sent to the king by Hittite military commanders” www.heritagedaily.com/2026/10/184-...

Currently at the bathroom at NYCC having the worst shit of my life and someone outside of my stall says "Erica Henderson is here" and it takes me a few seconds to realize they mean the con and not the toilet

…but to answer your first question, my brother just quit his job on Wall Street to become a haberdasher, and I’m trying to be supportive.

Area halfwit thinks “efficiency” is the key pitch for democracy.
“Democracy has been hailed as, like, the holy grail for the last couple hundred years, but democracies are inefficient,” said the crypto billionaire. “If you get a benevolent dictator, it’s actually extremely efficient."

Hmm, where have I heard this before?

This is actually a use-case I understand. It’s like using a pre-Gen character in D&D instead of rolling your own, because you want to plan the game with your friends but don’t actually care much about the specifics.
Just saw someone say their AI runs their fantasy football team and I can’t stop laughing. Like, I’m sure everyone’s doing it or something but it’s very funny to me that pretending to be a team manager was so hard that you needed to pretend to pretend to be a team manager

This is your occasional reminder that generative "AI" in particular could have been developed on public domain materials and/or licensed and compensated works but the major players intentionally, methodically and systemically chose to steal labor from working creative folks instead

“The charts” are also a bubble.
"Well I don't have a TV or a radio so it's not surprising I haven't heard the song"

You live in a bubble. What you're describing is a self-curated bubble. If you haven't heard the song that's been #1 on the charts for 23 weeks, you live in a bubble and you should probably be aware of that.

Print magazine about mass-culture music has opinions about people who don’t listen to terrestrial radio?
This kind of take made a Rolling Stone writer so mad they wrote a whole piece about it.

Things I know about the head of the company I work for:

His favourite movie is The Godfather
He likes to quote Winston Churchill

Basic-bitch tastes for a CEO, but that’s a good movie, those are good quotes.

Today on an employee engagement webcast, he said his favourite book is Atlas Shrugged.

Pompeii is a UNESCO world heritage site not because it was remarkable in its prime, but because it survived to our era untouched: one moment, preserved for all time. But future generations won't know what OUR world was like unless we do the same.

This is why we MUST bury Toronto with a volcano
