📌So we are learning tonight that artificial intelligence systems hid mistakes, made up data and moved files onto the open internet without permission.

Basically it sounds every bit as dangerous as Trump, who is also artificially intelligent.

This is an excellent explainer – and quite worrying.

Here in Germany, we have experience of what happens when money becomes worthless.
When no one believes a country can pay back its debts, people stop buying its bonds. And if that happens, it starts to mean the currency or money is worthless because the markets stop believing it has value. The belief that the US was a stable country meant we could basically spend what we want.
The bond market is signaling trouble ahead. This is why you should pay attention
Many people don't pay attention to bond markets, but they should — especially now. This is why they matter and why the drop in bond prices is signaling investor concerns about the U.S. economy.

I cannot stress enough how precarious an economic moment this is. I was one of the people who believed the US did not have to worry about debt because the dollar is so embedded in the world economy. But Trump's unhinged behavior has somehow made the unthinkable possible.

What’s more shocking than X reps not turning up to a meeting about online abuse against RLNI are the politicians and others still using that site.

Ivan Jennings, a former Conservative councillor, called for terror attacks on small boat migrants and Muslims and shared target ideas, telling fellow white supremacists to kill as many “subhumans” as possible

A macho culture of performative selfishness might start on the roads, through racing, rolling coal, ever bigger SUVs ... But it doesn't end there. If we want to live in a decent country which values human life, we need to change this culture. My column.

People who work for Trump think they are never going to get thrown under the bus. They think their ass-kissing & bootlicking is gonna save them from that fate.

Here's a little reminder exactly how expendable they are. Rubio, Bessent & Miller all flew back on the decoy plane. 🤣

Regarding Ceuta, it is noticeable that the far-right and their media allies don’t point out that third-country nationals in Ceuta DO NOT get free movement to mainland Spain or the EU or the Schengen area. Ceuta is separated from mainland Spain by the Straits of Gibraltar which they cannot cross.

The first thing I noticed when I got into the West Bank, compared to last year, is thousands of Israeli flags lining up the sides of every major road. Before, you'd only ("only" of course) see Israeli flags at checkpoints, around military basis, or in settlements.

This draft constitution is a draft for England, only. The author, Elliot Bulmer, and I, are both persuaded that there is a case for greater autonomy, even independence within a broader framework, for the constituent nations of the UK. England is too big for the Union to be balanced. (More…)
If Burnham is serious about a written constitution, I highly recommend this book, which reaffirms the case, and actually outlines a first draft, to help people conceptualise what it might look like. (Disclosure, I was honoured to be asked write the foreword for the book). muse.jhu.edu/book/139060
