Imagine being so out of touch that you think churning Dizzy through the AI mulch machine is "competing on a quality level" and not just a massive turn off for anyone under 50

nobody cares about frame rate when they’re born. We’re taught to care by our corrupt society.
Most people didn't about performance back then to the extent they do now outside of PC gamers

There are people who strongly believe this game is hyperrealistic UE5 slop

When the default console is a $500 obelisk that demands a cubby space all to itself you just have to appreciate the interior design friendliness and cleanliness of the Wii

I love these early waves of retro nostalgia, it's a trip to think about people in the 90s being nostalgic for games of the 80s

The Tower of Zeldaga is a mashup of the Legend of Zelda and Tower of Druaga.

Every room has a secret puzzle and the puzzles get more obtuse as you go on.

It's free, runs in your browser (incl mobile), supports controllers, and I'd really love for you to try it out!

In 2026 there's a new "Mario Maker 1 was better" video making the rounds and as much I like Mystery Costumes I really have to wonder if people who think that actually make levels

On one hand you've got people who think OoT is AI because it looks weird/bad to them but on the other hand you've got people "fixing" the art style with AI to make it look less weird

I think that about sums up where we're at with our understanding right now

according to aonuma, the Zelda remake’s goal was to be part realistic and part nostalgia for the original game, so I would make the argument they aren’t based on puppets, but instead the reason they have high angled eyes and strong pointed features is because they’re based on the in-game N64 models

Making jumping manual in OoT is interesting because it must have seemed so advanced to have a character who had the autonomy to jump on their own and now it's so ubiquitous that they're having to go back to the old way just to make those jumps feel treacherous again

I can't take any of these anti-remake arguments seriously when they've gone as far as to recreate the iconic N64 glinting effect, sorry!

The more I look at OoT the more evident it is that it's the same engine and many of the same artistic choices as BotW

It would be neat if they added music in other menus but I cannot overstate enough that Wii/3DS/Wii U were designed for loitering while Switch has very much the opposite philosophy and that's not something that can just be patched with music
[Nintendo Switch 2 System Update]

The Mii Maker now has music in version 23.0.0! You can listen to any of the three Mii Maker themes.
