It's 15 tracks and 88 minutes of summer vibes, a blend of dreampunk, ambient, vaporwave and occasionally even post-rock.

A shorter afterwork run this week, as a warm-up for Saturday's half marathon!
I did have some slightly concerning knee pain though, hopefully it won't be there on Saturday.

Control makes me laugh hysterically whenever the janitor character uses a Finnish idiom translated literally into English that probably sounds absolutely insane to anyone who is not Finnish.

This is somehow really funny to me

Lately I've been going through the bad 2000s Weezer albums again that I always ignored. It's time to listen to Hurley for the first time.

I also finished reading Iain M. Banks's Consider Phlebas, the first novel in the Culture sci-fi novel series, after buying it... uh... almost a decade ago?
I liked parts of it a lot. The universe the book describes and the world building in the book are interesting and genuinely creative.

Next I'll check out Control.
I can't pretend I'm a huge Remedy fan, outside the old Max Payne games, but I got it on sale for like four euros so might as well.

Finished Ace Combat 7! It took me a while to get used to the plane controls, but eventually I did have a lot of fun flying my plane through the campaign missions while enjoying the story. Even if it was a bit samey, the game is really good at making you feel god damn cool with your plane.

I found an old chili that had accidentally fallen into one of the kitchen drawers. It has dried so nicely that I'm almost tempted to use it for cooking

I made Vietnamese lemongrass chicken and rice noodles.

Most people don't pick an email provider, they use Gmail by default because you need a Google account for so many other things anyway.
I look down on people who say Mastodon is confusing or intimidating. You picked an email provider, didn't you? Just pick and instance and start shitposting.

My last long run before the half marathon next weekend!
I'm in the best shape of my life and I think I'm just barely at the range where the under 2 hour half marathon is possible, but the weather forecast for next weekend worries me.

Huh. I don't think anyone was expecting Diablo 5 anytime soon, but I guess it makes sense. The open world in Diablo 4 was an utter failiour and they clearly hadn't thought about what kind of ARPG they wanted the game to be. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxCN...

I watched the third Avatar movie, and I'm actually shocked by how awfully pointless that movie. I thought that at the very least they were going to move to a third setting in the planet or something, but no, somehow it was exactly the same movie as the second movie, with the same water setting.

Literally the first thing I did when I visited the UK for a weekend was to walk from Euston to King's Cross to find a Gregg's and try it. I don't know what Gail's is, but no shame.
I get the massive social shame when, at Kings Cross station, I walk past the Gail's to go to the Gregg's.

This week's afterwork run ended up being longer than I had planned.
It was my last chance to do a proper difficult run before this year's last half marathon next week

I promised to share my writing stuff if @poikaboo.bsky.social shared some of his poems too.
Here's an anti-AI folk punk tirade I wrote recently.

I've been having moderate fun with Ace Combat 7, once that I got used to controlling the damn plane. The missions are all very samey so far and you really are doing nothing but the same plane combat, but they do manage to make you feel really cool while doing it.

I didn't post this. I would never call myself highly intellectual
Most of my life I've been considered average looking at best, but highly intelligent/intellectual. I've just picked up enough of the language to discover that my Japanese wife and her friends think of me as basically a beautiful idiot, like Joey from Friends. I love it.

Post-dinner evening run! I like the evening run vibe but hate running after eating. But hey, I saw a horse!

Gochujang is not Korean miso, it's doenjang. Doenjang, like miso, is fermented soybean paste. You can even use them interchangeably to replace one another if you are out of one of them, even if the texture and taste can be slightly different.
