Three weeks is still early and it sounds like she's doing great! I agree with everything Steph says!

The pee is the wooooorst. How long until he can be neutered?

And so glad he's not musky in himself. I can't remember which of my boys was so strong smelling, but it was a lot. (Few years back)

Cadence who hasn't enjoyed touching her entire life, this morning let me pat her and almost flopped over because she liked it. She's been here since Jan! Loki's only been dealing with my nonsense for a month.

I'm definitely not a fan of being violently bitten, so I'm being careful. But yeah, I'm thinking it will help.
September 15, 2026 at 11:08 AM
Exactly! She has so much potential.
September 15, 2026 at 11:07 AM
She might, we usually leave it available if they want it.

I find the intact boys smell terribly, so I was joking. Sorry! He will be a darling!
September 15, 2026 at 11:06 AM
Still absolutely worth the time and effort though, and I'm not giving up on her! But we might let off the pressure somewhat and give her a chance to just ghost around the space and hang out with Ahsoka.

I should clarify, when I say scared, but violent - normally the violent cats are more confident in themselves. Loki goes from 0-100, and isn't confident still. Milton was the same. Would turn into a rock sometimes, and explode others. It makes them hard to read because they're unpredictable.

And just deal with whatever comes and however that looks as we go. She might feel safer surrounded by friendly cats (god knows it's working for Cadence).

Just musing. If the same thing worked with every single cat, the system would be perfect and no one would be feral.

But I'm thinking she might do better out of the crate.

Now, 99% of the time, they adore the crate. Big safe space, all their own, comfy. But Loki isn't making progress now Ahsoka is free. So I think I'm gonna have to be VERY BRAVE and let her out.
September 15, 2026 at 10:35 AM
I DID.

But I also tested her boundaries a bit today and might have to rethink how I'm doing things - she is not getting less murder-y.
September 15, 2026 at 10:27 AM
That's exactly it. A tiny piece is acceptable but I wanted to get ahead of some of the comments I get - from peeps who don't follow and don't realise I do this a lot.
September 15, 2026 at 10:26 AM
Oh I love him. I'm so glad he's sweet, even if he is a stinky stinky boy.
September 15, 2026 at 10:25 AM
She's definitely a one step forward two steps back kinda girl.
September 15, 2026 at 4:52 AM
I have been going through lots of antibiotic cream 😂
September 15, 2026 at 1:53 AM
Absolutely. I know she's going to come around because she does like the ear rubs when she relaxes.
September 15, 2026 at 1:29 AM
I think if we can just coax her through a little more fear reduction, she will come around. She's so scared.

But I did rub her ears - after she tried to murder me - and she liked it. (I had my hand covered - she might be the first cat I use gloves on!)
September 15, 2026 at 1:04 AM
Yeah, I try very hard to not do anything too scary! And Ahsoka vanishing would have been scary.
September 14, 2026 at 10:18 AM
Ahsoka keeps visiting her! She knows she's safe, they've been talking through the bars. Ahsoka is very brave. If I could trust Loki to not murder my ankles, or hide forever, I'd let her out too.
