Since a lot of you liked the supernova pic, let’s do another #astrophotography share.

This time, it’s Comet Leonard! 💫

Caught this in the mountains with the Scooby Gang. Stuck my DSLR camera onto my telescope and took a few snaps.

That green glow is due to sunlight destroying diatomic carbon.

NGC 6357 The Lobster Nebula in the constellation Scorpius.
Personally, I think it looks more like the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
ED127 scope, CDS modified Canon 1100D.
I'm guessing around 2.5hr of data. (original data lost due to corrupted hdd :( )

A forming star in molecular cloud L1527 is the dot at the center. Why do near-and mid-infrared observations from #NASAWebb show such different views of its ejections? Find this answer, and more detail about Webb’s recent discoveries: webbtelescope.pub/3Yp62P5 🔭 🧪

I was thinking of creating a Bluesky Starter Pack of people here who use smart telescopes, like those from Unistellar, Seestar, Celestron, etc. Would anybody be interested in that? 🔭
