It's World Homeless Day, and I'll just say: Homelessness isn't some great unsolvable mystery. People are homeless because they don't have homes.

This suffering persists not for lack of solutions, but because enormous wealth and power are invested in maintaining the very structures that produce it.

I made this cartoon about the importance of teaching Native history in 2022 and it basically a tone piece for my new Native history comedy book “We’ve Been Here The Whole Time! A Not So Sacred Guide to All Things Native America.”

People talking about perimenopause is GOOD and not a buzzword.

People getting relief for perimenopause symptoms is FANTASTIC and not an "industrial complex."

Anyone who says otherwise is an asshole.

Overnight, a masked bandit broke into our kitchen.

Armed with opposable thumbs, he proceeded to sample everything on offer. I’d just visited the farmers market, so the menu was extensive.

I can now share a highly specific peer-reviewed list of what this particular raider did & did not enjoy. 🧵

In 2023 while in NOLA, a Lyft Driver and I had a conversation about leaving home. It led to him telling me about his terminal diagnosis.

“An editor told me once that if you want to understand a war, interview the grave diggers. I’d add that if you want to understand a city, interview the drivers.”

If everybody did this, even places where people can't mask effectively (restaurants, bars, etc.) would get safer for everyone because transmission would be lower overall. Audiences mask = performers are safer. Students mask = teachers are safer. We have fuckin' got to learn to help each other out.

In 2021, there were roughly 101 gender clinics offering care to transgender youth offering a full range of gender affirming care.

By July 2026, there are only about 31 left that still prescribe hormones and puberty blockers.

Y’all also need to shoot anyone telling you that you can simply wash off a parasite embedded into the skin and even the folds and creases of alot of this produce. A parasite that is resistant to bleach, chlorine, and vinegar by the way.

Hi. We're in the Age of Diarrhea. I'm a global health expert on helping children survive diarrhea. Here's what to do if you might have picked up cyclospora. 🧵

1. Call your primary care if possible.

2. Take oral rehydration therapy, which isn't just drinking fluids. 1/

I was going through old boxes, and I found this unpublished poem of mine I'd written in the back of a textbook, probably in my twenties, when I was in and out of mental health facilities. I've typed it up, in the hope that it might help someone out there.

Exactly this. I was once so frustrated by this that I took the time to remind students that they had more access to the combined knowledge of humanity in their pocket than any other generation in history and they should USE IT to look up words, rather than retreating from the difficulty.
