In 2025, average monthly payroll growth was 15k. The average growth over the last 3 months was 111k. Almost an order of magnitude faster. That’s what I mean by soared.

Agree! 7/25-7/26 projection of 321k should roughly reflect estimated current pace. Top of 2026 range from @taraelizwatson.bsky.social, @stanveuger.bsky.social & me: 200k. 7/24-7/25 hard to interpret given huge policy change. There are news stories & posts suggesting that the movement in the bond market was big & that it might discipline Trump. I think that's wishful thinking. The move was pretty small. And, I would say surprisingly small. Bond holders still have trust in this administration.

There are news stories & posts suggesting that the movement in the bond market was big & that it might discipline Trump. I think that's wishful thinking. The move was pretty small. And, I would say surprisingly small. Bond holders still have trust in this administration.
