It's hard for me to imagine any visual impression that could better convey the feeling of sneezing really hard.😄

Does my Speak-n-Spell feel pain when I type O-U-C-H?

The jury is out.

Philosophers and neuroscientists say that's fucking stupid, but I called a guy from the Center for Pretending that Household Electronics Are Sentient and he said there's no way to know for sure.

funny thing about antitrust law is if you actually bother to enforce it you get markets with more small and mid-sized competitors that can't threaten you (see: Paramount threatening to leave California) as easily

but alas, spineless corruption rules the american experiment

The party tore up all sorts of renewable energy contracts to make us more dependent on oil and gas, then went to war to raise oil and gas prices. If they wanted to create an object lesson on the importance of renewables, well done.

Ceila Rose Gooding makes an exceptional evil queen. I think she should just give up acting and do that full time instead.

For someone more studied in the economics... AI spin creates an appearance of growth, but amid rampant inflation. So is AI actually producing any verifiable productivity growth, or is it just stocks ballooning in price as the dollar loses value?

My impression has been that it's the latter.
A slowdown of AI development could douse enthusiasm for the expected initial public offerings of OpenAI and Anthropic and dent the AI boom that is boosting U.S. economic growth, corporate profits and the stock portfolios of millions of Americans.
AI companies buoyed the U.S. economy. What happens if they slow down?
The president has said tech executives calling for slower AI development could hobble an engine of U.S. economic growth.

It’s very hard to rise up when all the food makes you shit yourself and the only authority you can even reach is a mindless inhuman voice that always agrees with you & tells you: you did it, you fixed the problem, with your bravery & cool ideas! Please stay on the line to complete our survey.

Giancarlo Esposito would be amazing in a classic Leslie Nielsen comedy role. Stuff like Airplane, Police Squad, etc. I am 100% confident that Esposito could deliver riotous absurdity with straight-faced intensity.

I use 2.5 bottles of insulin per month, insurance refuses to cover it, so I buy without insurance. They only price it fairly as settlement from a price-gouging lawsuit, and so refuse to sell more than a 30-day supply. So they'll only refill my prescription every 25 days.

US healthcare is stupid.

Today is the first day I've had a chance to go see the new Spider-Man movie, and I pulled up Fandango, looked at the movie times... and was suddenly struck by the memory of sitting through a full half-hour of ads last time.

Screw that. I'll wait for streaming.

The MCU's Eternals made a mistake in hewing too closely to the source material from the comics; namely by introducing major new heroes and a vast, world changing story that is then ignored by the rest of the franchise. It's the Marvel way!

My dog is old, has some neurological problems, and has a lot of trouble walking unassisted. Last night, she bolted up, dragged herself over to a pee-pad, and urinated there, instead of on her bed or the carpet. And I just wish I could somehow explain to people how heroic of an effort that was.❤️

There is only one thing I want to see announced at D23 this weekend.

It's not the X-MEN or VisionQuest - those are givens.

I need Disney to announce the full return of The Muppet Show. 🙏🤞
