Because I don't want the birders to miss this, but the astonishment and joy in this amazing circumstance will be accessible to everyone. This bird's native habitat is mostly in Europe, with additional range in temperate parts of Asia. It ended up in ALASKA.
Okay so we're in between net checks and hanging out in the truck because the weather is shit, and a bird lands on the side mirror. My student Noelle looks and starts making incomprehensible noises, because it's a freaking HAWFINCH

Thankfully I included a note in our IACUC that was basically "in addition to our study species I would like approval to band any weird Eurasian shit we catch", and I'm fairly sure this is the first hawfinch banded in North America

![Upon discovering these problems, we ordered Irion and Egli to show cause why they should not be sanctioned. The order instructed them to (1) explain why they should not be sanctioned for citing fake cases, (2) provide a copy from Westlaw or LexisNexis of all the cases and authorities cited in all of the briefs filed across the three appeals, (3) highlight any material that they quoted from those cases, (4) tell us who wrote the briefs in each case, (5) tell us whether the briefs were ghostwritten in whole or in part, (6) tell us whether they used generative Al to write the briefs, and (7) explain how they cite-checked the briefs.
