According to too many,
there is white and then there is political
there is male and then there is political
there is capitalism and then there is political
there is straight and then there is political
there is cis and then there is political
there is non-disabled and then there is political

We glory in your cross, O Lord,
and we praise your holy resurrection,
for by your cross joy has come into the world.

K-12 schools are miserably underfunded, and computerized tests are a cheap way to collect the data that politicians started requiring w/ NCLB and Common Core. By contrast, MIT has an endowment of infinity dollars, and isn't hamstrung by K-12 accountability requirements
MIT wants to remake education around what AI can't do. They propose oral exams and to center social interactions.

I cannot help but notice this is the *opposite* of the K-12 “school reform” edtech movement—which wants to put kids in front of computerized tests & collect data. Short 🧵
MIT has put out an "AI and Education" report summarizing what they've found at their own institution. Seems thoughtful. aiandeducation.mit.edu/report/

Please share with the elders in your life
AARP actually has an extensive program combating spam/scams/fraud and teaching elders how not to succumb. It's not a lobbying effort; it's education and litigation and ombudsmen.

Okay, I think I figured out why there are so many cis liberals yelling at the trannies this week

Ethical living usually comes down to: do you want to think of yourself as a good person, or do you want to actually do good

Actually doing good involves a fair amount of feeling like a shitty person!

If you see this and respond "Good," you are required to actually look up the top 4 denominations and who you're talking about. The trans priests, the lesbian bishops, the Tim Walz guys, the Stacy Abrams women, sometimes the ONLY safe youth groups for queer teens, hosts of Meals on Wheels, NA, and AA
We are ~15 years away from the possible collapse of numerous American Christian denominations.

This is a pack of lies. They're not expanding access, but drastically reducing it. JKM did *not* merely duplicate items at UChicago. This is a complete disgrace. And there's a reason you can no longer comment on socials from #lstc - God forbid anyone tell them the truth

They say books won’t change the world.
Tell that to every colonizer who burned them.
To every enslaved person who was punished for reading.

there's no "just let ICE go after the 'bad ones'"
there are no good immigrants/bad immigrants. there are no acceptable targets, no justifiable victims of state violence. I do not accept the starting position of fascism. I will not compromise when the stakes are someone else's life or freedom.
ICE agents shouldn’t be executing people on the street even if they ARE the target of the warrant

Teenagers are pretty competent at seeing through adult bullshit, and when you tell them "get off your phones and touch grass" and then arrest them for doing that, they understand that what you actually want is for them not to exist at all!
also stop criminalizing teenagers doing teenager things! "unlawful gathering" and it's a bunch of normal teenagers hanging out in a fucking park!
Stop trying to make the phrase “teen takeovers” happen

stop. if you think the existence of a warrant is part of the conversation in any way, you cannot, by definition, argue that it makes any difference whether the guy they killed had a warrant or not. because right guy or wrong guy, an arrest warrant isn't a death sentence.
BREAKING:

BIDDEFORD, Maine (AP) - Homeland Security secretary said man killed by ICE in Maine was not the target of warrant, Maine Sen. Angus King says.

Yes, you have to understand religion as a way to understand the world given the tools they had available and the things they could observe around them.

Its a framework not just for morality or control but one which helps you work out where you are and what you are in the cosmos
