Perpetually “concerned” Susan Collins should be VERY concerned by the latest reporting from ProPublica, revealing her involvement in an alleged bribery/pay to play scheme of awarding defense contracts to a specific firm right after that company made campaign “donations."

Over the past month, New York has welcomed the world.

From neighborhood watch parties to the stadium, we’ve celebrated the communities that make our city the global capital of the beautiful game.

Today, we close out a historic World Cup, proud of how New Yorkers showed up every step of the way.

The only way we unfuck our country is through a puritanical anti-corruption drive. We need to rip out a vast substrate of corrupt elites and marginalize an even larger contingent of mere incompetents and cowards.

Ppl need to be terrified of the white-collar criminal laws of the United States again.

Trump would not win a popular vote today. The House is going to flip in the midterms, and the Democrats in the Senate represent 58% of the population (due to the smaller populations in red, rural states).

America does not want this.

The browser was an improvement over installed apps on PCs. Phones have small touch screens and no mouse, so mobile apps. But consumers don't like having a million of them.

New mobile browser tech helps, but ultimately, "chat" will become the primary interface for mobile.
I remember when everything started moving to apps and I was morally offended at the idea of having to download all these little programs to access services when the Internet was right there and you know what, I was right

I think this is empirically true. In part because "critical thinking" has led to "distrust the experts," which is not the right message. It just allows people to trust kooky non-experts and validate their own biases, then pat themselves on the back for their advanced critical faculties.
Maybe the most depressing conclusion I’ve come around to in the past decade (and there are many) is that trying to teach & promote widespread “critical thinking” has been a complete and catastrophic failure. Most of the population is not capable of it, and it is socially disastrous when they try.
“Americans are facing a bizarre epidemic of gullibility and cynicism"—one “that is drawing people into a world of conspiracism and falsehoods," Adam Serwer argues.

This is off topic, but, it drive me nuts.

The “carrot and the stick” is not an option of carrot vs stick!!!

It refers to tying a carrot to a stick and holding it in front of a donkey or horse to motivate it to move forward. It represents unfulfilled promise as motivation.
