I guess my thing with the Dodgers is that I *like* villains and don't think we should break the last serious pro sports union because one team that has real structural advantages is also smarter and trying harder than their peers.

I get the impulse for autistic people to want to respond by saying that they DID go to college or play baseball or date and work. But that still plays into ableist narratives. Even if an #ActuallyAutistic person does none of these, they still have worth.

it really feels like team usa internalized that it wasn't taking this tournament seriously enough in 2023, and this happens to be the main way a lot of (white) american baseball guys know how to perform Taking Things Seriously.
