I have experienced this type of "you have to be twice as good as a man to be thought of as half as qualified" line *a lot* and this paper is an excellent primer on the inner workings of misogynistic systems and people (entrenched academic asshole type men) that keep those systems in place.
Absolutely fire paper, explaining why talking to men about inequality in academia is so awkward. And why, instead of tackling systemic issues, many (men) pretend the issue does not exist or blame it on women with faux viewpoints.
