Unlike Macklemore, these support acts don’t have big followings and they are giving up their chance to perform to stadiums to push back against censorship, not of themselves but of a fellow artist. Respect.
The Irish musicians, Beoga, who play alongside Ed Sheeran, have withdrawn from Sheeran’s tour.

This is the statement they published on Instagram:

It’s not an “impossible position”. Sheeran is a very wealthy, successful musician who was asked by a stadium owner to kick a fellow musician off his tour for political reasons. He could choose to kick Macklemore off or to say no thanks, we’ll play elsewhere. www.independent.co.uk/bulletin/new...

Wonderful acts of principled solidarity that make Sheeran’s centrist “neutrality” look even more pathetic. ✊

Surely Sheeran cannot proceed with this tour. Hard to see him fill a stadium ever again Ireland if he does.

ed sheeran has certainly not covered himself in glory but he’s at best a miniboss here. if his concert get canceled but everyone pours into Gillette Stadium for the next pop star or nfl game, then Robert Kraft and his pals still effectively got what they wanted.

Wait Ed Sheeran had Irish musical acts on his tour and he didn’t anticipate they’d immediately drop off over this

If Sheeran had an ounce of courage, he would pull out of the tour and let Bob Kraft the paedophilic john and the promoters (Messina) pick up the pieces.

Man, the Zionists got a lot of blowback on this one, and from young folks. That should worry them.

Dave Zirin: Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, “friend” of Donald Trump, and proud mega-donor to AIPAC, just showed us once again how raw oligarchal power can crush any pretense that our speech is protected by the First Amendment.

Total respect for Aaron Rowe, the singer-songwriter opening for Ed Sheeran's tour. He has the courage to drop out in support of Macklemore after the rapper was removed for voicing support for Palestine. The cancel culture of the billionaire class has to be called out.
