The AfD won the Saxony-Anhalt state election, forcing mainstream parties to confront whether and how to engage the populist right.
For me, this is a genuine difference in Germany where the public broadcasters have not caved. The AfD is called out for what it is - a far tight menace - despite its success. I do not watch, listen to the BBC anymore since I just experience it as part of the repression (of sense and humanity).
