Parental job loss hurts most in infancy. Using Danish plant closures, Bingley, Cappellari & @MarcoOvidi find grade-nine math scores 0.04 SD lower and general upper-secondary enrolment 1.4 p.p. lower. Effects are largest in liquidity-constrained families.

2/ While I value the perspective on race, it was selective. New York's PS 307 is not under resourced. In fact, the spending per pupil would rival most US universities, and is more than almost any of the top 100 public high schools in the USA.
