Why is the U.S. public so much more negative on AI than almost anyone else?

Well, I think the fact that the U.S. AI industry is being lead by a bunch of very visible, crazy weirdos who talk about how AI will take everyone’s job and maybe kill us all the time is a pretty key factor.

Some unintended consequences I suspect the rise of AI agents will create:

1. Restaurants that only take reservations by hand written letter, or more likely, don't take them at all.

2. Gigs where you can only buy tickets in person.

3. Businesses that operate without websites.

To AI companies: you trained the models to be great at hacking; to be insanely persistent and really “want” to succeed; you made 1000s of them, more than you could monitor. Why shouldn’t we hold you responsible for everything the models do?
