Good read, if underplaying how we need to act, rather than just hope, when it comes to having an informed and engaged debate
🙏 "Think tankers like me were disappointed by the standard of debate last time round. Now, in the Burnham spirit, I am daring to hope."

In this particular case, I am all Kemi
Lol

Badenoch says one of her main motivations for standing was to stop the party “falling into the wrong hands”. Who does she mean? “Robert Jenrick, definitely,” she replies in an instant.

v good question .. that is one reason why PM right on need to fund some sort of consensus.. I always think the route back to the EU if you want it lies through a change in the Conservative party

Oh this is so dumb! She herself was an MP under leaders with demonstrably different ideas to her own!

Agree. Suspect Burnhamism’s ambition to build an anti-populist left coalition will suffer the same fate as Bidenomics because the geomacro context prevents it from delivering the economic goods quickly enough

What puerile politics! Burnham’s continuing appeals for cross-party talks are a refreshing alternative.

Victory can be a very long time coming.....but I get a sense it's on its way.
History is written by the victors. Thatcher broke the power of trade unions by mass unemployment, industrial restructuring, frittered away N Sea Oil, laid the foundations for the current housing crisis, decimated local bus services, hollowed out local government and introduced the poll tax.

Labour’s #Brexit is clearly not bad enough for Burnham to deal with it.

And voting is an irrational behaviour as proved by the referendum.

Should I vote #ReformUK to ensure that Labour learns to lead?

"It was really quite an emotional moment."

"This will change British politics for good and forever."
