Electric-car sales diverged in September, falling 2% globally as North America and China weakened, while Europe hit a record and German registrations boomed on incentives and fuel prices.

I don't think most Americans understand yet what a global laggard the USA is turning into here. Media instead told us that electric vehicles were a fad that didn't work.
Nepal passed 5% battery electric vehicle share in August 2021 and is at 75%. The U.S. passed 5% in October 2022 and is at 6%.

The ironic thing about it all is that the European car market *will* electrify very fast irrespective of all these gimmicks.

"You had a choice between war and dishonour. You chose dishonour, and you will have war" - just replace ICE and EVs.

Plus the tech transition will belong even more to China.

So much for the twice-yearly registration smoothing out demand.
EVs in the UK are "running out of juice"...except they're not..and never were.

Again and again, critics have doubted EVs, yet the market simply keeps on growing.

Important context here is that in Nepal non-electric cars face import taxes of 200-317%, while EVs taxes range from 15%-130%.

The high import tax is why so much of Nepali traffic is two-wheelers – only the wealthy can afford cars at all, so the huge tax disparity mitigates the higher cost of EVs.
