Trump signed a bipartisan sanctions bill in Sept2026 targeting Russia, known as the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026. He's just signed an executive order to waive and put those sanctions on hold. Trump is a Russian asset. #USA #USApolitics #Russia #SlavaUkraini 🇺🇦 🌻

This is awful. Some foreign policy bills have a clause allowing flexibility if a President deems something not in the national interest. But in this case the President seems to be clearly working against US national interest. “Trump Offers Putin Economic Relief …” www.nytimes.com/2026/10/17/b...

A historically unpopular President allied with a dictator against the wishes of his own party could certainly be reason to finally break from him (not holding my breath, just to be clear).
Russia is now exempt from the Lindsey O. Graham Russia Sanctions Act. The US government is clearly allied with Putin against Ukraine. Vote Republican enablers out.

The timing of Trump's full betrayal is honestly baffling. He knows the midterms are going to be very difficult for his party and that most Americans support Ukraine. The logical thing to do to boost his standing would be to increase his support for Ukraine.

Instead, he does the exact opposite.

The lie that will not die. And that takes away agency from all the countries in Central Europe that wanted an insurance policy against Russian revanchism- rightly, as it turned out.
Ron Johnson blames US for Putin invading Ukraine: "The way we treated Russia after we won the Cold War, how we pushed them. I'm not defending Putin, but we said we were not gonna move NATO one inch to the east. We brought it right to their doorstep basically. What did we think Putin was gonna do?"

Congress passed a law forcing new sanctions and tariffs on Russia.

Two days before it kicked in, Trump signed an order waiving it. Read that twice.

Then ask who the law was for.

Trump is a Russian asset.

Long read.

This is a very good guide to a part of Europe that Americans don't know much about. With Vladimir Putin on the rampage, it's an important part of Europe to know about.

I plan to buy the book.
