Last Halloween One. 🧵Nut-Crack Night" was a traditional northern and Scottish nickname for Halloween during the Regency and Victorian eras, named for the customs surrounding the autumn hazelnut harvest. On this night, communities gathered around fires to practice romantic divination using nuts as

out of the grate, it signaled a volatile relationship or a fickle partner. Alongside these fireside oracles, the evening featured other classic harvest customs like apple bobbing. It cemented the humble nut as a symbol of historical October folklore.
