The European Union’s Copernicus climate service said May was Europe’s second-warmest on record, causing heat-driven crises in France, the UK, Ireland and Portugal and warning extremes were becoming the norm.

Latest Global Indictors report just published. Latest decade (1996-2025) global mean temperature increase since pre industrial of +1.26°C. Largest energy imbalance on record.

Latest Global Indictors report just published. Latest decade (1996-2025) global mean temperature increase since pre industrial of +1.26°C. Largest energy imbalance on record.

The most extreme heatwaves physically possible already today could dwarf all events in recent memory.
And even more worrying, they occur successively after one or more extreme heatwaves in the same summer.
