#$PBLS
Honestly every intersection with turns restricted to arrows should have a red light camera, including PBLs.

Ladies and gents, the first Lincoln Avenue protected bike lane!

Thank you @andrefor40th.bsky.social!

Why the hell are the recently completed PBLs on Airport Way S being torn out?
March 12, 2026 at 7:07 PM
Jack biked himself from Shaw to the arboretum in PBLs

I was going to post about how amazing it was that I can now ride from Beacon Hill to South Park to Georgetown to downtown almost entirely in PBLs. But instead I’ll post this picture of a guy who smashed into the bike lane seconds after I rolled through:

The PBLs Contain Potassium Benzoate.

That's bad.

I made a 6 min video showing what it’s like for a 6 year old to bike for a day in some of DC’s protected bike lanes.

15 mile ride and 9 PBLs

Ok but PBLs on Halsted would be preeeetty nice
June 18, 2026 at 12:42 AM
the thing is that many people do not want the PBLs to be plowed because they want the PBLs gone and this is their best example of why they suck. if we don't ask the city to plow the lanes then they don't know anyone wants it. 311 request takes <1 min, 2 min to email your alder with the request #

Dramatically improved, ADA compliant curb and sidewalk upgrades are now open linking DUMBO, and the Sands Street, Jay Street, and Manhattan Bridge PBLs 🚲 👍🏻

Don’t know how split people are on these but personally I’d choose these two-way bike paths over separate curbside PBLs whenever possible.
The new street design along 111th st west of the Pullman station is finally becoming legible- and holy shit talk about luxurious! Curb moved, wide enough to ride 4 abreat (2 in each dotection), fully selarated from peds. Only lasts a block or

I wrote a long post that no one has or will read on stupidass LinkedIn about ‘substandard’ PBLs lnkd.in/p/grGmYPQJ

"Why is Chicago building protected bike lanes? Nobody rides in them 6 months a year when it's cold here."

Here's what we saw in the downtown Dearborn Street PBLs during a 4-minute bike ride on Wednesday 12/10 around 4 PM (not peak rush hour), when it was about 32F.

In a portion North of the PBLs btw

Bad: Due to recent driver incursion, Goudy School is locking a gate, making Winthrop S. of Foster unreliable as a low-stress SB bike/scooter route. Confident riders can use this detour.

Good: @the48thward.bsky.social says they're working w/ 46th and CDOT to extend Broadway PBLs N. to Foster. (1/2)

PBL removal, especially 15th street, feels personal because my 6 year old kid can comfortably ride around the city safely in PBLs. Their removal shortens his safe routes and feels like a direct attack.

Flexpost PBLs are/can be 90% as good as full-construction for a fraction of the cost
post your worst transportation take: I actually love the mobile lounges at Dulles.
August 1, 2026 at 2:23 AM
Really cool to bike from downtown to the upper east side using the new (ish) Van Buren and North PBLs and 1) not have any vehicles in the bike lanes and 2) being able to pass a lot of cars due to the LMD closures.
May 6, 2025 at 9:03 PM
Need more PBLs in Boston, ffs.
I am heartbroken by the passing of Louisa Gag, a dedicated public servant whose life’s work was making our streets, neighborhoods, and public spaces safer and more accessible for everyone to enjoy.

Jack biked himself 12 miles RT to the arboretum, around the trails, and back. PBLs the majority of the way make it easy.
March 16, 2025 at 5:50 PM
Thanks to new protected lanes in Logan, *all* of Milwaukee between the traffic circle and Kinzie PBLs is protected, mostly via parking conversions. But in Wicker Park, swapping spots for PBLs hasn't been considered viable – yet! ⌛️🚲🚲🚲

I don’t think the Cambridgepark Dr PBLs will be bikeable for awhile
