# Baltic
Reading this clarified for me that Trump's decision to invade Iraq and put an incompetent fool in charge of our military is designed to help Putin in his plan to weaken NATO and invade the Baltic states. Do not believe that Trump acts alone. Trump is Putin's puppet.
The Baltic states are linked by their experience on Russia’s western borderlands: one of subjugation and dispossession, @isaacstanleybecker.bsky.social writes. He spent a month in those countries, learning how they are preparing for a possible Russian attack: theatln.tc/jgeHxpks

The thing is, given the new geopolitics of the Baltic (if we were feeling Trumpy about it, we could rename it “Lake NATO”) Kaliningrad is increasingly isolated & logistically unsustainable. NATO attacking it is a paranoid fantasy, when NATO can just sit back & watch Russia pouring resources into

The reason of not exchanging much with the north is because offered little beyond metals, mainly Atlantic tin. Greek wine and drinking gear reached only Hallstatt elites. Even Herodotus doubted the Tin Islands existed. Exchanges with the Baltic region was mainly through the Etruscans

Kaliningrad is really only an advantage for Russia during peacetime.
Sitting inside of Europe, a place of menace and opportunity, offering a nice Baltic Sea port.
But as soon as Russia launches a war, Kaliningrad becomes a liability and a sacrifice.
Putin is scared.

This one is for you Colby and your NATO 3.0 BS:

The next time you decide to exclude the UK, France, and the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania) from an upcoming Pentagon-led NATO future-planning meeting in Poland. Just remember — you flunked out of the Musketeers lesson of the day. 😉 😘

Putin is in a quandary.
He wants to attack NATO.
But he realizes that if he does, his Kaliningrad is forfeit, his naval fleet is forfeit, his access to the Baltic Sea is forfeit.
So he ramps up talk of using nuclear weapons, in hopes this will be enough.
Putin is scared.

Estonia Named the World’s Best Country to Relocate to in 2026
Estonia has been named the world's best country to relocate to in 2026, according to the latest Rumavi Global Relocation Index, which compares countries and territories on factors ranging from affordability and safety to healthcare, business opportunities and living conditions. The Baltic country took the top position in a ranking covering 192 countries across 24 individual metrics. Estonia's strong performance was linked particularly to its banking infrastructure, business opportunities and property rights for non-citizens. The annual index groups its measurements into four broad areas: financial and tax conditions, livability and health, safety and stability, and settling and opportunity.

I fear this is all interlinked with the funding of far right parties across Europe. UK & France are nuclear powers, the 3 Baltic States are the most anti-Russian of NATO (for obvious reasons). The pitch here is "increase your defence spending on US weapons and our nuclear umbrella continues"
