The ‘Breguet Gyroplane Laboratoire’ of 1933 is often regarded as the world's first truly functional helicopter. Thanks to it, from 1935 onwards, Louis Breguet covered a distance of 44 km, made flights lasting more than an hour and established numerous world firsts in helicopters.

The Breguet 530 "Saigon" was a civilian version of the maritime patrol Breguet 521, itself derived from the British S8 "Calcutta". The Saigon was operated by Air France in the 1930s on Mediterranean routes.
