I’m sort of thrilled to share my writing space. It’s not pretty, don’t get me wrong, these cords are nothing to brag about, BUT I’ve been playing around with ergonomics & have less pain while writing 👏

What I learned from RevPit: plot needs to plot. #revpitclassof25

Tackling story structure head on has been one of the hardest inward evolutions for me as a writer, but also one of the most worthwhile.

Forever thankful for @jenichappelle.bsky.social & #revpit for enduring support in this process📖

There aren't enough characters allowed on BlueSky to say all of the things I learned from RevPit 😅

The truth is, it's still not done teaching me! ❤️The opportunity to work with an editor is of such an amazing experience. More on that on my post on Sunday!
Through #RevPit, I learned about the power of the writing community. I made so many friends from around the globe through this competition. We're all out here struggling through the query trenches and on a roller coaster of imposter syndrome lows and creativity highs. I've adored getting to hear about all of the incredible projects that touch every single genre (and subgenre) that I can imagine. I am beyond proud to be part of such an amazing cohort! No matter what happens, I feel so blessed that this experience gave me a supportive group of friends who understand the writing life

It's the last day before the #RevPit showcase opens!

I'm a jittery mess, but I know my pages are ready thanks to @fromcarly.bsky.social

Thank you so much for believing in my manuscript. It means the world to me, and I am so happy I've gotten the chance to work with you ✨

#RevPitClassof25
A glittery purple background has text laid over top that says: Before working with Carly, I kept staring at my novel and thought I'd done everything I could possibly do to make it shine. But I knew it was missing polish. There were pacing issues, and the characters weren't jumping off of the page like they do in my mind. Carly changed that. Moving one chapter from the 3/4 mark to the first half got the ball rolling, and then we talked through characterization improvements, pacing, tension, and everything else in between. I am so proud of the final product. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. My novel is so much shinier because of you

Hides her magic for ✨reasons✨
Illusionist
Anxiety in a flapper dress
Soft but strong (needs a hug)

Sam
Eldest son
Heir to a crime empire & ✨over it✨
Claustrophobic Escape Artist
Dark hair, sharp jaw

In the background, the inside of an opera theatre either green velvet seats and two stories of balcony boxes. A white square with text sits over the background. The text reads: He combs his dark hair back, accentuating his angled cheekbones; the line of his jaw— “Are you alright?” My mouth gapes like a carp. I shut it. I’ve fallen like a clumsy fool with the audience of one of the most handsome men I’ve ever seen. And I’m still on the ground. I take his offered hand. He closes it around mine, warmth enveloping my cold. Heat pricks my cheeks. I must be red, red, red. “I’m fine, thank you.” Handsome looks at our clasped hands and my stomach falls to the floor. I’ve held on too long and I pull my hand from his. Stop being so awkward. “I hope you break all the bones in your body,” Handsome says. That can’t be right. I must’ve misheard. “Excuse me?” Confusion wrinkles his brow before he says, “So you’ll end up in a cast.” Spirits’ teeth, what is he talking about? Handsome glides a hand over his hair then rubs the back of his neck. “I thought that’s what you’re supposed to say before an audition.” He rocks onto the balls of his feet, then onto his heels. Break all the bones…”Do you mean, ‘Break a leg?’”
