Looking at #CROI2025 program and seeing lots of withdrawn work, am assuming mainly from CDC folks who were presenting their work. Let that sink in, the CDC can’t present at one of the biggest HIV research conference in the world…this is what US research looks like now

Didn't even get a chance to stand next to my poster and look awkward or join my colleagues now turned comrades in the fight to protect science & HIV research. #CROI2025 has been a wonderful way to catch up & stay connected. Two new cases of HIV remission after stem cell transplant for cancer reported at #CROI2025. These have become so routine that they're posters instead of oral presentations. We know an HIV cure is possible -- now we need to use clues from these rare cases to develop widely applicable approaches.

Amazing reduction in the use of antimicrobials among DoxyPEP users overall, in a study in implementation in Italy, with decreased in doxycycline use when used prophylactically compared to baseline. This flies in the face of the concern that DoxyPEP would increase antimicrobial use! #CROi2025

As #CROI2025 begins proud to show my support for science. Simply amazing to reflect on how much science has been able to do to improve the outcomes of PWH and to prevent HIV infection. We need a vaccine and a cure but stigma and discrimination continue to be the Achilles heal of the response.
