Sadly they don't really mention stopping sending people to prison who don't need to be there, or investing in preventative measures to stop people getting involved in crime. Hoping Mr Timpson brings the changes we've needed my whole life

Thinking about the messages in this book and my training as a prison officer, and how although the course covered building rapport and "jailcraft", i don't recall talking about humanity, or treating prisoners as people.

I worked on the Social Exclusion Unit's 'reducing reoffending of ex prisoners' report back in 2000, in my first job after uni. Sadly none of the lessons have yet been learnt. We need a paradigm shift.
