'Human Connection'

Was a lovely sight seeing these two young women having a proper natural laugh together at Leyburn Market. Aw

Sparty 🙏🏼

A black and white photograph reveals a candid moment of two women sharing a joyful conversation on a sunlit street. The image, captured in a monochrome palette, emphasises texture, light, and shadow, giving it a classic, timeless feel. The central focus of the photograph is a two-person wooden bench where the women are seated. The woman on the left has long, light-coloured hair that is catching the light, & her head is thrown back in laughter. Her mouth is wide open, and her eyes are crinkled with mirth. She is dressed in a light-coloured, long-sleeved shirt and casual pants, and her feet, adorned with sandals, are placed on the ground in a relaxed posture. Her entire body language conveys uninhibited happiness. Beside her, the second woman, with her dark hair pulled back, is also smiling and looking at her friend. She is leaning in, with her legs crossed and her hands resting on her lap. She wears a lighter jacket over what appears to be a light-coloured top and jeans. The way she is angled towards her companion suggests a deep connection and shared amusement. The composition places the two women in the lower center of the frame, occupying a significant portion of the image. The strong sunlight from the left casts long, diagonal shadows from the women and a nearby pole onto the pavement, creating a dramatic sense of depth and time. The ground itself is a mix of asphalt & paving stones, with a metal grate visible near the bench. In the background, a street runs horizontally across the top third of the photo. A light-colored Volkswagen Golf is driving up the street away from the camera. A tall, dark post stands between the car & the bench, acting as a vertical element that separates the two planes of the image. To the right of the women, a building with a textured brick facade and a dark doorway provides a solid backdrop, contrasting with the more open space on the left. The overall impression is one of genuine human connection captured in a simple, everyday setting.

White Square: Monologue on a Non-Existent Hat. Part V-VIII (Lucky SHD 100New)

Oh look, it is me!
Am I turning into hat?
No, just Nadine here.

Hat sits on the head. What stays hidden under brim? Could it be a thought? The White Square turns into a stage where Nadine Froh plays herself — and everyone passing by. The hat becomes a metaphor for a gesture that needs no explanation. The city watches silently: glass and dome, office and church, all breathing in one rhythm. It’s not a walk — it’s a dialogue between chance and form. Technical Credits: Model: Nadine Froh Film format: 35mm half frame Camera: Fed Micron (№8110014) Film: Lucky SHD 100 New (Exp. 2018.04) Lab & Scanner: printbypro / Noritsu LS-1100 Location: White Square, Lesnaya St., 5, Moscow Date of shooting: April 2018 Philosophy: “We don’t seek meaning — we just try it on, like a hat.” A tiny frame, half the length of an ordinary human glance. Within it, Chinese silver that fell asleep in the previous decade meets a Soviet shutter mechanism. The grain is as thick as morning porridge, the contrast has departed for Berlin along with Nadine, and the details have slipped into half-frame non-existence. This is not an image defect; it is a live broadcast of time slowly chewing on light. Oh look, it is me! Am I turning into hat? No, just Nadine here.
