But yeah, any AIB's out there, I be happy to buy a card with 3x or 4x 8pin connectors again. At least the card won't melt on me. Also putting thicker cables on it won't work as it's the pins, they're too thin to carry such watts/amps on the 16pin connector. The computer industry needs to dump this.

Also 8pin connectors can support more power than these 16pin ones. 2x 8pin connectors could support up to 800watts without issues.

Now that we know 8pin can work on even RTX5090, AIB's should really get back to using those instead as the cables run cooler, the solder on card is cooler and this means, less costs on RMA's so would reduce your costs entirely.
Time to dump this 16pin thing.

The issue is the 16pin connector is too small, the pins are too thin, the wires are too thin and they just cannot cope with 600watts going through them.
8pin wires are thicker, pins are thicker, the socket is larger and can spread the load more, so no melting/fire issues.
