#2026ED138
Following the @rubinobservatory.org discovery announcement for #2026ED138, Sam Deen found two potential images of the object from 1954: groups.io/g/mpml/topic....

It was simply not recognized on the old Palomar plates.

Discussion in this thread suggests that #2026ED138 is likely in a 7:12 resonance, which is the same as Haumea's. That doesn't prove it's a Haumea family member, but if it is, its albedo could be high for a TNO, and its diameter on the small side of estimates.

There is also a report of a potential stellar occultation by #2026ED138 visible "over western South America" on 2026 October 31: groups.io/g/mpml/topic....

Does anyone have a map for that, in case anyone should want to try to chase the shadow?

Potential new dwarf planet!:

2026 ED138's orbit is tilted by about 25 degrees relative to the plane of the solar system, and is currently about 4.3 billion miles from the Sun, or about 46 times the distance from the Sun to Earth. #2026ED138 #dwarfplanet
