This should be a SETI proposal.

Look for transmission from star systems where they have a unique radio signature which is modulated by the orbital period of any exoplanets.

This is the confirmation we need.

Give me elebenty billion and I will make this happen.

Dr. Hannah Dawson earned her dual-title PhD in Oceanography and Astrobiology from the University of Washington. She studied the adaptations that allow life to survive in one of Earth's most extreme environments: sea ice. 🧪 🔭 👩‍🔬

There is not a set schedule, except for exoplanets. When exoplanets are added to the NASA Exoplanet Archive (exoplanetarchive.ipac.caltech.edu ) we try to have it in SpaceEngine by the next time we update.

Two exoplanets are losing material through extreme processes. Webb studied K2-22b, while TESS discovered BD+05 4868 Ab, providing new clues about their composition and evolution.

I know this is /s but there are some cool papers looking for radio signals modulated by orbital period of exoplanets--star-planet magnetic interactions, basically detecting exoplanet magnetospheres! arxiv.org/abs/2409.15507

btw -- people often aske me what got me into astronomy, and it was this!

When I was 15 (a few years after this discovery) I read about these exoplanets. What got me fascinated was not the planets themselves, but this object called a 'pulsar'.

It sounded totally made up and Sci-Fi --> I was hooked!
Did you know that the first planets detected outside our Solar System were this system -- the B1257+12 system!

Pulsar timing gives us such precision that Wolszczan and Frail were able to detect the tiny tug of the planets on the neutron star.

Based on the rarity of pulsars, it sounds a lot like how the first exoplanets were found around them. I think this analogy could go far lol

The atmospheric composition of exoplanets is key to understanding their potential for life. Scientists analyze the light that passes through an exoplanet's atmosphere as it transits its star. This light, when dispersed by a prism, reveals absorption lines – dark lines at specific wavelengths indi...
